International Mini-Symposium October 9, 2018
Spatiotemporal dynamics of
aquatic organisms in a changing world
- from genetics to macroecology -
Date October 9, 2018
Venue Miyoshi Memorial Auditorium

This mini-symposium focuses on spatial and temporal dynamics of marine and freshwater organisms. In the present day, aquatic flora and fauna face various kinds of environmental changes including climate change, fishing impacts, habitat destruction, and water pollution. That would threaten ecosystem functions and services in aquatic systems.
Our presenters will give a talk about the latest advances of theory and empirical evidence that facilitate a better understanding of spatial distributions and temporal dynamics of aquatic organisms. The topics include various biological levels consisting of population genetics, metapopulation stability, and community regime shifts.
This mini-symposium will provide a good opportunity to discuss marine and freshwater dynamics in a changing environment.
